Are you ready to shred 2024? The Scenic Rim Enduro Series takes MTB racing and supercharges it – on the best trails in Queensland!  In 2024, Rd 1  will be at Kooralbyn and Rd 2 will be at Mt Joyce and Rd 3 will be the part of the Kooralby Bike Festival.

 

What is gravity enduro?

 

Gravity enduro is a next-level mountain biking experience. It’s an adrenaline-charged multi-stage race format designed around a series of uphills and exhilarating timed downhill sections. Cruise to the top of the hill, then bomb down as fast as you can. Rinse, repeat!

 

The untimed climbs mean you get to ride at a leisurely pace, catching up with your mates, taking in the scenery and conserving your energy. The timed downhill sections are where the real action happens – time to put the hammer down and rocket that descent!

 

Riders have a number of hours to complete the course. The course incorporates competitive downhill stages, each ranging in difficulty. Riders have their times recorded for each downhill stage, and the rider with the fastest consolidated time is declared the winner!  

 

Where is the Scenic Rim Enduro?

 

The Scenic Rim Enduro is held at the world-class Kooralbyn Valley Mountain Bike Park and Mt Joyce Mountain Bike Trails. This is the BEST location for endurance MTB events – challenging trails, sprawling mountainous views, abundant wildlife and an easy drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

 

Kooralbyn is a hidden gem of the Scenic Rim. It’s the original home of endurance riding in Queensland and is where former Australian racing cyclist Cadel Evans cut his teeth in the mountain biking world!

Never done enduro before? Here’s what you need:

 

Although the uphill sections are untimed, riders do still need to reach each stage by a certain time, so a reasonable level of fitness is essential.

 

It’s also recommended you have:

 

• A reliable, fully-functioning bike, preferably a full-suspension rig

• Full face Helmet 

• Kneepads

• One spare tube, tyre levers and a pump or compressed air canisters to fix punctures

• High-energy snacks, water and a pack to carry them in
